Artist Biography:
BERNARD CHENEZ is born on April 2 1946 at Donville-les bains (Normandy)

His first editorial politic cartoon was published in the newspaper Le Monde in
September 1972 and during the following 10 years a daily cartoon was published.

1984-1997 He worked with Jean-François Kahn at L’Événement du jeudi
1985-1994 Chenez spent some time in Japan where his first oil paintings were exhibited, during that time, the newspaper Asahi Shinbum published his drawings with the theme Japanese life through French eyes.

He worked on theatrical projects with such well known people as: Silvia Monfort (Le Cirque), Lucien Attoun, Guy Rétoré, (Beckett), Benno Besson, and Coline Serreau, first play (Lapin Lapin)

Since 1988, Bernard Chenez has been the leading cartoonist for the newspaper l’Équipe and has covered all the most prestigious world events: The Olympic Games, The Football World cup, The America’s Cup, The Tour de France

To date, 26 books of his cartoons have been published.
